Begin differentiating Gillian’s homework. Week of February 27th. The data I will collect to more deeply understand these actions are Interview – To gain insight on how this benefits/ does not benefit Gillian by getting “different homework” from the rest of the class.
Continuing to follow my data action plan, I conducted an interview with Gillian to determine how she felt about differentiated homework. The point of this is to ensure that she is making educational gains, as well as is not feeling bored or unchallenged. From the interview, I can conclude that Gillian has very positive feelings about getting different homework, and feels as if it is really benefitting her. She stated, "It is fun because I usually learn something new. It is more fun. When it's on the computer, it's still Math but I am learning but in a different way, especially when I can choose."
Gillian also said that the work is on her level, and it is challenging, especially when she is ahead of the class. She also said she wants to continue getting different homework. (See Interview below for transcript.")
