Half-hour later, she returned for the observation. My focus for the lesson was for students to create their own stories based on a picture of their choice.
Overall, I believe that the lesson ran smoothly. There were a few bumps in a road, but that is inevitable as a teacher. I covered everything that I wanted to, as was good with time, which is something I was worrying about. After watching the video of myself, I will be able to get a better understanding of my pros and cons.
After lunch, I went through a math test with a student who had missed it. I enjoy doing this as it interesting to see a student’s thoughts as he or she does something like a test. It allowed me to learn a lot about his learning styles. Hopefully, I would be able to do this with my focus student someday.
I then carried out my lesson that was observed with the second class. Since this was my second time doing it, I think it went a little smoother, as I was able to learn from my mistakes. I am eager to assess the students’ assessments in order to see what percent of my classroom met the learning goals.
It was definitely a learning experience, and I look forward to doing more in the future.
