FEAP 5D - Collaborates with the home, school, and larger communities to foster communication and to support student learning and continuous improvement.
The above image shows collaboration with the home to foster communication and to support student learning and continuous improvement. The above is an email that I sent to one of my student's parents. The student was struggling in Math, and the parents requested additional information in order to assist him to the best of their ability at home. Therefore, I analyzed this student's data according to each unit taught and states what percentage her earned in each unit. I then highlighted the areas of focus. I believe that giving the parents this additional information is extremely beneficial for parents to be aware of the child's progress. The parents replied saying how thankful they were for the information, and how helpful it would be. I believe that this communication will surely lead to this student's improvement.
The below note is another example of collaboration with home. It was a note written to the parents of a student who had missed a lesson on long division. The note stated the pages missed and encouraged the parents to work on the skill with the student if possible. This is a means of bridging any gaps that may have risen in the student's content knowledge, and I believe that it would have been helpful for the students to be aware of this so that they can attempt to improve their child's knowledge.

The above email shows collaboration with the school's vice principal regarding IReady reports. The email discussed my meeting with the vice principal in order to show her how to access the student growth reports. These growth reports are valuable sources of data as they show what progress students made, areas of focus, areas of strengths, and next possible steps. Therefore, I believe that showing the vice principal how to access and interpret the data would be meaningful for the school community and the students, as it is an opportunity to make educational gains, as well as improve.
